Dr. Ashraf was my OBGYN for my first child and about a year before that. She was very patient, kind, took time to explain issues and procedures (sometimes was a little too detailed during emotional times) but overall made good choices, was respectful and knowledgeable. I worked with her through Pristine and I hated how they always made me pay even if the visit seemed like it should’ve been covered under my global delivery contract fee or should’ve been covered with insurance. Even when they overcharged me, I had to call and schedule a phone call with a nurse and fight to figure all that out. (They never actually told me they owed me money, just waited for another visit and then charged me a “lower” fee. Shady.) Any time I had a question, I couldn’t ever reach anyone directly without another scheduled visit that I was subsequently charged for. Love the doctor but Pristine isn’t my favorite practice to deal with.
Dr Ashraf is a kind, professional, non-typical kind of doctor. She was empathetic and listened carefully to my concerns. She is honest and a realist which I desperately needed and wholeheartedly appreciated !!!
This doctor was highly unprofessional. As I came to mention the sleep issues and a worsening of my ADHD issues that I had been experiencing since an IUD placement, she lectured me on her sleep hygiene tips. Which is to listen to social commentary TED Talks, NPR, BBC, and "nothing incendiary like Trump." She also felt the need to inform that listening to great speakers would be helpful to me as, "she was sorry to say this, but you are very meandering." She went on to say telling me about all the effects of birth control would not stick in someone's mind, but that a story related about, for example, some female astronaut like this one from a TED talk, who had these issues that were solved with this birth control would go over better. To Dr. Ashraf, I'm sorry if I bored you trying to piece together the issues I was having on virtually zero sleep. In fact, I would have appreciated just receiving the scientific information I came for, and not your personal opinions, whether you thought I was intelligent enough for them to stick in my brain or not.
