We went to the Doctors office in December to have work done.  At that time we were told that while Dr. Hoang was an in network provider for my insurance company which we specifically identified as Aetna Medicare Advantage PPO.  They stated and we were fine with submitting the claim for reimbursement.  We had an additional discount plan through Aetna a fact they were also aware of but at first failed to provide the discount, after complaining they honored the discount plan.  Moving forward to Aetna paying the claims.  The first claim was paid but paid on an out of network basis which the Doctors office consistently maintained was not accurate.  The second claim required more information from Doctor which they failed to provide so the claim was denied.  Upon reviewing the claim we contacted the office and they provided some of the information needed but not all.  The question of being in or out of network again came up and the office manager confirmed to us that they were indeed an in network provider for Aetna Medicare and they committed to providing Aetna with verification.  One month later the claims now complete with information were paid on an out of network basis.  I contacted Aetna once again but this time when Aetna contacted the Doctor they stated that they were in fact not an in network provider for Aetna Medicare despite them telling us they were at the time of service and on subsequent follow ups.  Apparently the website that Aetna directs it's members to is inaccurate and there is another website one is supposed to use but this is not outlined.  The end result is that we are out 700 dollars based on misrepresentations made by the Doctor and Aetna Medicare.  The actual work done by the Doctor was good but the staff provided misinformation whether deliberate or accidental it does not matter I have been financially damaged.
