Robotic Surgery

Robotic surgery is a type of minimally invasive surgery, using a tiny opening to get inside the body instead of making a large cut. It uses small tools attached to a thin robotic arm, which is controlled by the surgeon. Robotic surgery may be referred to by the specific kind of robot that is used. The most advanced robot currently in use is called the da Vinci, and surgery using it is sometimes called da Vinci surgery.

There are many benefits to robotic surgery, both for the patient and the surgeon. Robotic surgery allows for more precise movements and increased control during very delicate surgical procedures. This makes performing surgery accurately much easier for surgeons and reduces fatigue. The smaller 'hand' of the robot can enter the body via a much smaller opening, which reduces the risk of infection and scarring and leads to a faster recovery. The robotic hands also contain tiny moveable cameras among their tools, giving surgeons a much closer view of the procedure than would be possible with traditional surgery.

My visit with Dr. Haven was one of the best experiences I've had while trying to find the root cause of my chronic pain. I could see the compassion and empathy in his eyes while he spoke to me. Every treatment option he provided me was in regard to preserving my fertility, which meant so much to me after speaking to so many providers, attempting to address my condition, who have had zero regard for my fertility, including an MD who told me my only treatment option was a hysterectomy and my Ob-Gyn who told me my only treatment options for my chronic pain was birth control. During my very first visit with Dr. Haven, he made me feel like a valued patient, was very apt in addressing all my questions and concerns, and best of all, addressing appropriate solutions that I, for the very first time felt comfortable moving forward with.

Dr Haven was wonderful. His receptionist was rude to me when they initially called to make an appointment for consult. I had questions regarding the process and was scheduling treatment for a rather sensitive circumstance, missed pregnancy. Staff was defensive towards my question and overall not supportive, understanding or empathetic. I want to be clear this was NOT my experience with Dr Haven or his scheduler Amy but the clerks I spoke to on the phone for consult, and in person on the day of my appointments.

Dr. Havin was absolutely amazing. The only thing I'm waiting on is to hear from the scheduler for my procedure. I know insurance approval is needed, but I would like a follow-up call so I know where we are in that process. The waiting is the worst part and to know what's been done and what still needs to be done would help the waiting be a bit easier.

The appointments are pushed out a month or so but he is an excellent Dr from what I can tell for my.first visit. A good Dr would be scheduled tightly.
