This doctor called me up to tell me I had cancer and when I wanted more information she hung up on me. Then when I complained she said I was racist, but it was over the phone so I could not know her race. If you can't be sensitive to someone who has just found out they have cancer, you should not be in medicine.
Amani Zewail violated my patient and civil rights. I requested that the chaperone not be present due to my religious beliefs. Instead of respecting my wishes, Amani Zewail mocked my faith and violated the sanctity of my body by inserting the speculum and allowing the chaperone, Sabrina Sanchez, to peer into my agape vagina. I plead for the violation to end and Amani Zewail ignored me and performed a Pap smear , while Sabrina looked endlessly unimpeded into my vagina. The exam extended well beyond a normal time frame. When she tired of my pleas, she told me that the chaperone could not see my genitals because Amani claimed to have hidden her head under the draping cloth. I , however , was looking directly into her face. The draping cloth had been pushed up so high, I couldn’t find it to conceal myself from the chaperone. I left that office feeling like I had been raped. I began trauma therapy promptly, thereafter. This physician is not trustworthy and has a high tolerance for inflicting harm upon patients. I was extremely alarmed and realized just how profoundly manipulative she is when I acquired my medical report and discovered that Amani Zewail completely omitted the conflict that occurred and only noted my objection to the chaperone. She, however, wrote her report as if she had honored my request. I experienced the an extreme visceral fear while in her care, in addition to physical, emotional, sexual, and psychological trauma. 6 months post trauma and I am still in therapy. This is a risk you shouldn’t take.
