Rheumatologist - Madison, WI

"I would give 0 stars to Dr. Muller if possible. I went into my appointment with a positive attitude, hoping that I had found a caring and helpful rheumatologist in my area to add to my amazing team of other doctors in different specialties. Dr. Muller made it clear in his manner that he did not care about my present concerns and questions, and did not take me seriously. He said that there was no reason for me to return for a followup, and needless to say, I completely agree. It would have been a great relief to find a good rheumatologist in my area, but I would strongly recommend going elsewhere if you want to find a compassionate provider who shows interest in trying to help in a constructive way. I have had an extensive and complicated health history over the past 22 years, have been cared for by providers in many different specialties, and therefore have learned to evaluate the competency, professionalism, and care that are crucial to a doctor-patient relationship. Dr. Muller did not bring the most basic amount of sensitivity or interest in helping with my care, and said at the end of the appointment that he was going to throw me back to my primary care physician. He was dismissive of my concerns, insensitive in his overall manner, and uninterested in allowing me to speak - interrupting me and saying there was no reason for any follow-up or evaluations. After making it clear that he did not believe I had severe pain, or any real health issues (despite the obviously unread documents that I provided beforehand to facilitate our visit), he told me to read a book and "exercise, exercise, exercise." He asked me if I had any questions twice after this, and I replied that I did not, as it was obvious he did not actually care if I had any questions, and I did not want to prolong the useless and upsetting appointment. I waited over 30 minutes, and he barely spent 10 minutes. I would not have taken the time to write a review, as I have taken more time and care in writing it than Dr. Muller did for our appointment, but I hope to prevent other patients from having the upsetting experience that I did, and wasting their time and money."
