Cardiologists - Annandale, VA

"I have now had 4 visits here and each one is about 200$ a visit not including the medical equipment they have used. I am currently pregnant and understand not much can be done till after the baby is born, however, I feel dismissed and treated like I am unable to handle what is or may be going on. They are in-network apparently too somehow. I was hit by lightning in May 2021, have been having issues with heart rate and rhythm since at random moments. I tried to provide them with information provided to me by my Fitbit premium subscription on two different watches since the first one I replaced due to the electrical surge of the strike. Spent a week trying to organize and gather as much information as I could to show a historical change to the situation, only to find out that it was not even glanced at and while their monitor that I wore for a week "showed nothing" or "considered normal", I am still unable to walk 50 steps without my heart rate spiking to where I am out of breath and getting discomfort in the chest. My heart rate spikes also in the middle of the night when I am asleep, which their monitor picked up, but they assumed I was awake of which I was not. The data I pulled showed how I was not walking or exerting any energy in the moments my heart rate spikes at night, and movement during the day causing my heart rate to spike and stay high with drastic fluctuations. Their monitor pulled a high of 168 and a low of 58 with an average of 82/83 which they claim to be normal for pregnancy, their report also shows a few pages of discrepancies of the heart rate and rhythm. I walk an average of 1300 steps a day with the typical high HR of 130/140, I only weight 190lbs (while 7.5 months pregnant), Typically have a blood pressure of 90/60 and levels for blood work all have been within requirements other than blood sugar which has always been on the low side. I do understand pregnancy can cause heart rate to increase, but I do not feel like the lack of ability to catch my breath and chest discomfort for 30 minutes or so to be normal for walking 50 flat surface steps. I wish they would have looked into the data and actually had a real conversation with me over the information and probable situations that can be the cause. The wait time in the office was typically 30 to 45 minutes for a 5-to-10-minute synopsis of what he saw in 10 seconds on some computer. He never remembered my case and always had to ask me or be clarified on what was going on. He never relayed any level of connection or concern for my comments and data or provided me with clarity on what things meant. Phyllis at the front desk provided all the bedside manner and even seemed to have to babysit him and hold his hand through things instead of being a front desk provider, she constantly had to make sure he understood who he was talking to as soon as he saw a patent instead of him being able to review the paperwork on his own in the 30-minute delay for the visit with him. I do not feel this provider provided me with proactive care to my situation and I do not feel the benefits of cost weighed to my benefit on information provided. I was left with the response of "stay calm and relax till after the baby is here and come back to do more testing" instead of combining 3 of the 4 visits into one at the very least to try and save any time or money.
