Dermatologists - Humble, TX

"I took a chance on this dermatologist, meaning noone referred me to her and I have no knowledge of her previously. My last visit included injections to my scalp to grow back the hair I was losing. I purchased a series of 3 injections and each time my scalp was supposed to be prepared with a numbing salve with a waiting period before the injections of 15-30 minutes so the pain would be minimal. The first time went smoothly with some (pain scale of 1 - 10, with 10 being the worst pain) pain. Dr. Egesi only waiting for 15 minutes and I reminded her of waiting a little longer, but she continued with the injections. I went along with it, but was very sorry that I did! The numbing salve had not taken full effect yet. After the procedure which lasted about 7 minutes, she told me next time she could offer me laughing gas for an extra $50, I declined. The next round of injections (appointment #2) I asked her to wait a little longer when she came into the room only 10 minutes after the application of numbing salve. She waited only another 5 minutes and insisted to do the injections. Again she offered laughing gas for an additional $50, but I declined it. It is my opinion that laughing gas will NOT increase my pain tolerance as I have had other surgeries prior to this encounter and it had no effect. This is not by any means an inexpensive procedure, and thought she should give me the laughing gas at no charge especially with how expensive this series of injections was OR wait the full 30 minutes before carrying on with injections all throughout the scalp. I was in a lot of pain afterwards and dreaded returning for the 3rd and final time. The last visit was the worst! Dr. Egesi still did not wait the entire 30 minutes, much less 15 minues. I held back from screaming as best I could and vowed to never return!!! Honestly Dr. Egesi, if you are too rushed throughout your day and won't wait the needed time for the numbing salve to take full effect, you should give your patients the laughing gas at no charge. You are a cruel person. This dermatologist ought to be ashamed of herself for the lack of proper bedside manner, pricing, and her inhumane way of serving her fellow man. It states: I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability and judgment, this pledge: I will respect the autonomy, dignity, and privacy of my patients. I will practice my profession with conscience and in accordance with best medical practice. If you are reading this review, take it upon yourself to seek someone else who is caring and will treat you with dignity with respect to your autonomy."
