Dermatologists - Fort Worth, TX

"When I first visited, was told "Highland Dermatology & Aesthetics Center" does not take Aetna. Called their general office and was told they do take Aetna Advantage as long as is a PPO. Had to inform the staff of this. Next appointment was told they want a CC or $100 deposit. It was explained it was similar to renting a car; medical examination for cancer like renting a car. At the time I objected. Then after a bad experience with a "Blue Light" treatment I told the doctor I would not subject myself to it again. On a subsequent appointment, I asked that a blemish on my face be removed and was told they have a laser machine for that. The machine was inoperative at the time but was told I'd be call when it was repaired. Eight months later I returned for my next scheduled appointment after no one ever bothered to call. It was cosmetic, meaning I would have meant "out of pocket". When I arrived for my April 7th appointment I was refused service because I refused to give them my credit card to hold or $100 cash. I think they should be more interested in patient care instead. They're not asking this of all new patients, leaving me to believe it has to do with the type of insurance used rather than a blanket request for leaving money on the table. Dr. Thrash's service was outstanding."

"Whenever I have problem regarding skin issues. I always go to Dr. Daniel Walker .He listen to patients problem and never in rush and he gives very frank advice. I had small growth on my forehead and he numbed that with a shot and he removed it and I did not feel any pain. He send to the lab a sample of epidermal tissue and after about 2 days I got a called from his nurse that it was negative and you don't need further treatment. I found him to very kind and I would highly recommend Dr Walker just visit him and you will be very happy with treatment you.God Bless!"

"This was a surgical follow-up visit with Dr. Marra that was set up by Dermatology Associates in Weatherford. The Mohs surgery I had was actually performed by Dr. Richardson, but he left the practice shortly after my surgery. My appointment with Dr. Marra was a total waste of time, and he said if I had any questions about my surgery, he thought Dr. Richardson was still in Fort Worth and I could possibly get in touch with him. In addition, Dr. Marra charged me for an office visit when I was told by Dermatology Associates that this follow-up visit for my surgery was included as part of my basic Mohs surgery. Suggest you avoid Dr. Marra and Dermatology Associates."
