Anesthesiologists - Desoto, TX

"I have been a patient of Dr. Patel's office since around 11/2021. I have only seen Dr. Patel on 2 occasions. The dates when he was performing my procedure. Every other occasion I have been treated by his PA. A male and a female. Upon my first visit Dr. Patel recommended an RFA procedure. They did not request any medical records from my previous pain doctors. I was given 2 test injections and then the procedure. I was told by one of his assistants that they had received the same procedure and it lasted them for a year. I got the procedure on both sides of my spine implant. The procedure itself as well as the 3 day recovery were very painful. The results wore off in 5 months. And my back pain was worse than it was before the procedure. On or about August 3, 2022 I was visited by Dr. Patel's PA (male) who suggested I get a Spine stimulator implant in my back. I expressed my hesitance because they had not performed any kind of diagnostic procedure to see what was wrong with my back and if a spine implant would prevent my pain. He told me they use an X-RAY when they do the procedure. I told him I would need to research the procedure and get back with him. He asked me if I had BlueCross BlueShield and told me to tell people that it was my primary insurance. It was not. The next day I received an email and multiple phone calls wanting to do a psychiatric examine to qualify me for the spine implant procedure. I stated in an email response that I was declining the procedure and would inform my Dr. When I came to my doctor's appointment in the month of September, 2022. The PA (male) stated that he had been told I declined the procedure. He then stated they have done in excess of 1,300 spine implants in their patients. I still declined. He then told me because I had declined the procedure he had no justification to prescribe me my pain medicine. My office visit in the month of October, 2022 was with a female PA and went without incident. The month of November, 2022 it was with the male PA. On or about 12/17/2022 I was told my drug test had come back saying that I had tramadol in my system. Tramadol in my system implies that I don't take my meds as directed which I do. Or that I am purchasing medicine off the streets which I am not. I asked if they were sure it was my urine. And asked to see a copy of the drug test reports. The drug test reports state the urine was altered. It also says the amount of Tramadol in my system was in excess of the amount of medicine that I am actually prescribed. I then asked for copies of all my drug tests. They searched in the system and only provided me with 7 month drug tests when I have been drug tested every month, albeit 2, I have been a patient there. In addition, none of the drug test results they provided were from when they prescribed me Tramadol for 3 months. I asked for a copy of my medical records in their entirety. They said they would send them to my email at no charge. I did not receive them. I subsequently sent a formal medical records request in writing to their provided fax no. I still have not received them."
