"Went in for first appointment with Dr. Lockhart. I have to confess that when I made my appointment it was to get away from the VA. I was wanting medication for restless leg syndrome because the VA had stopped the medication i was on.... that was the reason I originally wanted an appointment for, but since then I have developed a throat issue with loss of voice and I wanted to be seen for my throat. But.... because of my original reason of restless leg I am now grouped as a drug addict in this Dr's view. She explained the medication that I had previously been prescribed as addictive and told me I needed to see someone for mental counseling. Then she told me that my throat was probably because of withdrawal from the previous medication. Let me make this very CLEAR. I have not been on that medication for months. I finally got tired of being told how bad a person I was and told her I was done and left. Let me finish with this . I retired from the military with 36 years of service and the military is who prescribed the "addictive " medication initially. I was the trusted source for my command and held a pentagon appointment prior to retirement. And senior enlisted for my command.I don't think I am that bad of a person. And my monthly drug screening never indicated I was on a dangerous medication or I wouldn't have been allowed to take it."
