"I went in for visit due to a recommendation from my physical therapist that my injuries from my wreck the previous November were not ready for therapy yet. The staff was very nice but the Doctor was a different story. My x-rays showed no injuries so even from entering the room he was dismissive. He asked about my pain but wouldn’t let me tell him about what I have been experiencing. He looked at me briefly and determined that my issues were not something he dealt with since they were not bones. He then proceeded to hand me a sheet that went over anti-inflammatories. Even though I had told him that I was walking 3 miles a day previous to my wreck and that due to pain and another surgery I’ve been down for a year, he made several points to show me the nutritional part of the sheet that talked about obesity and suggest that I read up on it. In case it has to be said, one should probably not tell a woman who has spent the last year trying to get her mobility back as well as heal from an abdominal hysterectomy that she has put on weight! Because she knows. Especially when she was very active prior and told you on her entry forms that all of this has given her anxiety and depression. Perhaps pointing out her weight gain was not the best bedside practice. But had he listened instead of engaging her husband, he would have known that. "
