Primary Care Doctor - Bannockburn, IL

"Dr. Lakemaker is an experienced physician who clearly knows his craft, though at times he can come across a bit like a grandfather or a know-it-all uncle. One thing to note is that he is only available in the mornings until around 2 p.m., which can make him harder to reach due to the quick turnaround. The office itself has some shortcomings. On occasion, prescriptions have been sent to the wrong pharmacy, and my insurance coverage for prescribed medications was not checked, which was frustrating. This sometimes meant delays of a day—or even up to a week—in getting my medication. It also seems at times that Dr. Lakemaker may prefer not to deal directly with insurance issues. As a result, I’ve often found myself, even while unwell, having to step in and facilitate communication between him, the pharmacy, and my insurance company. I sometimes wonder if the office has up-to-date internet systems or software for managing prescriptions and insurance checks. The clinic feels rather old-fashioned. That said, I believe Dr. Lakemaker is a knowledgeable and capable doctor, but there are some rough edges in the practice, and it may be a bit behind on technology."
