"The office staff is very friendly although I had a good 30-45 minute wait for each appointment. I needed to have 2 crowns replaced and was told I’d need to pay $1500. upfront that was my out-of-pocket on the crowns. That should’ve been my 1st red flag, I’ve had plenty of crowns, knew my insurance coverage well, and have never paid more than $475 each for a crown. Then Dr. Ledis lasers my gum line prior to doing the crown impression. He did a core buildup on both teeth but never took a pic or X-ray at the appointment it was done, as proof for insurance. I was told it’s not covered when I knew it had been paid on at a previous dentist. I had to ask them at my permanent crown placement to submit the before and after x-ray for possible payment which they did, and it was finally covered by insurance. Once I got the crowns placed and Aetna processed the claim I found that the gum lasering was not submitted. I questioned Chris, the office manager, who again said insurance doesn’t cover it. I called Aetna myself to find out that they had never heard of this procedure used for crown placement and it in fact was not covered. I was charged $175 per tooth, so $350 extra out-of-pocket on top of my normal crown out-of-pocket. I called the office to ask about this huge expense Chris put Dr. Ledis on the phone to explain that he has used this laser machine the last ten years to get a better crown impression done. I say I’m just not happy with this big out-of-pocket charge and his nice attitude changed and he says “Well you get what you pay for” Then tells me he can give me names and numbers of cheap dentists or I can just go down to Little Havana and promptly hung up on me. Otherwise, during appointments he was generally nice and talkative but don’t dare question his exorbitant extra charges. Never going back"
