" Dr. Pentel seems to care only about fast cash paying laser & spa patients not dermatology patients. The staff does not communicate & has unhealthy attitudes towards clients. One of the medical assistants did almost everything, to include administering lidocaine into several sites,while the physician was not present. Dr. Pentel only stepped in briefly to do biopsies & left immediately. She did not explain anything, suture or inquire about my pharmacy. The medical assistant did not instruct wound care or provide proper dressing however she is ONLY a medical assistant -not the physician. Dr. Pentel only sees derm patients on Tues. My results were cancerous & after 3 wks, 2 separate staff members called. I confirmed my appt, arrived 30 mins early to discover the receptionist stated she didn’t see my appt. She handed my lab results to me & told me find another physician because I appeared unhappy?? They are covered under my health insurance & have been paid already plus my copays. I wasn’t unruly so was taken aback by her demeanor. I have never encountered this in my life, especially at a time such as this. I mislead myself into believing Dr. Pentel & her staff were meant to help their patients -not send them away if they actually had a medical issue or was a bother to any staff member. They succeeded in helping me feel more hopeless. I woke today with the expectations of hearing positive news regarding my diagnosis but left in tears holding a positive pathology report & still have 3 open wounds that aren’t going to heal- per the office staff & Dr. Pentel. Thanks Southside Dermatology for this nightmare & unwanted stress. I never saw Dr. Pentel once today. I can’t believe this & or especially believe she has the audacity to practice “medicine.” (Or allow staff to practice.” Do they care about cancer? I do. "
