"Previous to Dr. Saif, I (Russell Shipp of Pilesgrove, NJ) had been under the care of 3 other doctors for diabetes. I've been insulin dependent for several years. During that time, my blood sugars were consistently too high. My previous 3 doctors responded to my climbing sugar levels with increases in my insulin dosage. However, the increased insulin brought no resulting improvements in my blood sugar levels. On my First visit to Dr. Noman Saif, he pointed out that I was prescribed way too much insulin by my other doctors and that it would never get better from excessive insulin use. He pointed out that there is a complex relationship between the insulin receptors in the body and the amount of insulin present in the blood. As a result, he cut my usage of insulin dramatically. He put me on small nightly doses of long-acting Lantus insulin with small doses of short-acting Novalog insulin before each meal. I was concerned that cutting my insulin usage would greatly increase my sugar levels. However, I have miracously had normal blood sugar levels ever since. "
