Allergists and Immunologists - San Rafael, CA

"Sadly this doctor’s and her office do not focus on the patient, the goal is to submit the claims. I called office with particular issue and upon confirming that their services are covered by my insurance, scheduled my visit. The doctor Juline Caraballo was nice soft spoken and seem knowledgeable. She stated in order to figure the cause of my frequent illnesses, she will be ordering multiple blood work test that will be covered by my policy. I knew, I will be probably paying some amount out of my pocket. She said she will call me right after she gets the results to discuss the treatment plan if needed. Then she asked if I know what my allergies are. I said i don’t have any except the dust. She asked me if I want to test and I said that normally such tests are expensive and not covered by insurance. She stated that her office staff confirmed that my policy covers it. So I agreed to it. All, indeed, came negative but dust. I did my blood work two days later, with $512 payment out of pocket, when I asked the lab if this was not covered by my policy they said the policy covered over $2K of this blood work already. Results came alerting so after waiting a couple of days (expecting doctor’s call as she promised) I called the office. They said I can only talk to the doctor in person, she does not make blood test review calls of zoom visits, it has to be in person only and first available would be in 2!! months. They offered to talk tot the nurse, who said they don’t have the results yet and she has to order then at that day and call me on the next day. Three days passed I called back and told thy still don’t see results, I emailed them the results from the lab and it has been 3 days since then still not a call from them. In the meantime I received another $495 bill for the allergy test that was confirmed by the doctor and her office as “covered by my policy” I called them again and billing office says the same “it is covered it is being processed”. Called my insurance and they confirmed that I owe $495. Conclusion $1000.00 visit with such experience and my health issue is unresolved. "
