"I had the Lap-Band procedure on November 20th two years ago. I weighed 256 pounds. I was very overweight. I was insulin resistant, unhappy, and uncomfortable. Overall, just not a happy life. So the extra weight had a pretty big impact on all aspects of my life. There were things I couldn’t do but wish I could because of the extra weight - like having kids for example. But now it’s a possibility. One of my doctors suggested I look into Lap-Band surgery, so I started to do a lot of research. That's the most important thing. It affected all areas of my everyday life in a positive way. I can actually do everything. I don’t have to try getting up every morning. I can move easily. I can be active. I sleep better. I wear the clothes I want to wear. It will change your life completely! I love all the changes! It's been the best thing I've ever done for myself. Sometimes you need to take care of yourself, so you can take care of everybody else. My biggest takeaway from this whole thing is, I did it for myself, but it ended up benefiting everybody else!"
