"I recently relocated to a new area and decided it was time for my annual physical after the COVID-19 restrictions eased up. Despite not having established a regular primary care physician (PCP) yet, I took a chance based on Dr. Hayne's credentials. My experience at the clinic, however, was far from satisfactory. Upon arrival, the receptionist struggled to process my insurance, initially claiming it was invalid. After a bit of back-and-forth, she managed to sort it out. I was then ushered into a room by someone claiming to be a "PA" who seemed inexperienced. Her difficulty in taking my blood pressure was concerning, leading to inflated readings and a general sense of unease. As the appointment progressed, it became apparent that the individual presenting themselves as a "PA" was still in training to become a registered nurse (RN). She took her phone out and relied on Google search to identify certain medications. She admitted She hadn't earned the title she was using. This lack of professionalism was disconcerting and raised the first red flag for me. Left alone in the room for an extended period, I was surprised when a medical student entered instead of Dr. Hayne. Despite the student's courteous questioning, neither he nor Dr. Hayne logged my responses on their medical system. Dr. Hayne did not exam me except just listening to my breathing, time my heart beat and check my abdomen. During the examination, both Dr. Hayne and the medical student simultaneously put their scopes on my back. Dr. Hayne's request me to lift my sweater for them to hear my lungs. I felt somewhat invasive. The total doctor-patient time was less than 5 minutes. After that, Dr. Hayne told me to come back for a pap smear, which usually done on the same day. Dr. Hayne's demeanor further compounded my discomfort. His casual attitude towards my health concerns, including making jokes at my words, left me feeling belittled. The lack of respect for my preferences regarding gender during intimate procedures added to my unease. Ultimately, I decided to cancel all follow-up appointments and labs the next day. My experience at this clinic was not only disappointing but also disrespectful. I would caution other women seeking medical care elsewhere to consider alternative options where their dignity and concerns are taken seriously."
