I've been seeing Dr Thornton for a few months now, since my psychiatrist of over 15 years retired.  He is very patient, listens to everything you say and makes you feel like you are a part of the process in treating you.  I have Bipolar Disorder and that is one of his specialties.  Very hard to find someone whom hasn't made a judgement call and listens completely.

He sometimes has backups of a few patients, usually attributed to other patients that may need more extensive help (getting someone admitted to Zale).  Otherwise, he's usually on-time.

As a side note, UT accepts almost ALL insurances.  There are no "games" to be played when trying to get coverage, as you may with another provider whom doesn't have a huge hospital affiliation.

Dr. William Thornton is a specialist in psychiatry. Dr. Thornton attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He trained at a hospital affiliated with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas for residency. His clinical interests include mood disorders and adult psychiatry. Dr. Thornton's distinctions include: D Magazine Best Doctor; Texas Super Doctors; and Outstanding Teaching Site, Zale-Lipshy Inpatient Psychiatric Unit. He is professionally affiliated with UT Southwestern Medical Center.
