Dr. Walter G. Griffith JR., MD

I have been seeing Dr. Griffith since 2009.  He always has time for me and treats me with respect and courtesy.  I have seen this office go through a lot of changes over the years, i.e. adding additional and helpful services for his patients, as well as adding new staff members.  I can not express enough just how helpful everyone has been on my mental health journey.  I don't believe Dr. Griffith is taking on patients currently for psychiatry however, I am happy to see any of his fantastic staff as they are all able to access my historical records.  I always feel very comfortable in his beautiful office and can often do follow up check-ins via zoom.  I am so grateful to have met Dr. Griffith and can't imagine going anywhere else as I know he has my best interests in mind.

I went to dr. griffith over 15 years ago and he was great but his receptionists literally never answered the phone. I had to restablish with his office because no one else took my insurance. I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. The completely redid the inside so it feels kind of like a spa. they have relaxing videos on the tv and fountains. They staff is extremely nice and willing to help in whatever way they can. when I call they always answer and if they don't answer, i get a call back. I'm glad things are better im happy with the service and the new management!

TERRIBLE!!!! I had to get a prescription refilled and called their office. Clara or Claire answered and said there were no refills bc I didn't schedule a 3 month follow up w him after last visit in August. I was slightly taken aback and told her they always call me right after that appointment to schedule a follow up appointment. Well Claire or Clara or whatever her name is said " It's YOUR responsibility to schedule a follow visit! I explained I have no problem with that but wish someone would have told me that because up till now, they had always called me right after the tele-visit to schedule next appt. She said she didn't when he could see me but would ask him and get back to me. I asked if he can give me a few of the pills I need. She said she would have to call me. And she did......to tell me that he is moving me to a different doctor in LAKEWOOD RANCH!! What??? Then she said she can prob get me a tele-visit with him though today at 2:30. Ok, sounds good. She says I see you have Aetna..yes. no wait, you're self pay. I said no, I have Aetna...it's new. She says she is in the system and there is no record of me....she needs the ID # off the  back of my card. I said I don't have cards yet, but I have a group #. She sounded like Atila the Hun and said she needs the ID NUMBER!!! I told again I don't have one yet and my HR person said the cards will be to me in 10 to 14 days. She said well call back then and HUNG UP ON ME! I go back to my office, log onto Aetna website, plain as day, there is my new insurance with the ID number. EVERY OTHER DR. OFFICE was able to see it when they entered my social this week,  but not her! I saw in my email the confirmation of my 2:30 appt w the new doctor. I called back to give them my ID #. Some older woman answered, said she would help me with that, but then said I'll have Nate call you back, he's in a meeting right now. I said I thought you were going to do it. No. Nate needs to call you. Ok. Well about an hour later and no call from Nate, I call back, and a foreign sounding gentleman answered and said Nate is at lunch now, he'll call you back. I said ok, my break is about 2:30. Ok, Nate will call you back at 2:30. I gave him my ID #. I go back to my desk and a little while later check to make sure they put my ID # for my appt with the new Dr.   Oh no....they cancelled the appointment!!! Are you KIDDING ME???? And Big Surprise.....Nate never called me!!! I called sev more times....got the voicemail....called from my work phone about 5 pm and MIRACULOUSLY someone answers. She said Nate is busy and will call you back. Any idea of when? When he's available. Any idea when that might be ..I've been being told ALL DAY that Nate is going to call me back, for what, I don't know. I've been talked down to, lied to, hung up on,had my appointment's canceled for no reason AFTER I gave them my ID# verifying my insurance that CLARA wasnt able to find. I said maybe I'll call back and just get your voicemail again with Caitlyn and Dr. Griffiths number for after hours.  She said no....there is no reason to do that, it has already been expedited. (I think the word she was referring to was " escalated", not expedited (this isn't a restaurant). It seems to me that Caitlyn prob wasn't around because she runs a pretty tight ship. I spoke to soo many people there today, then got their voicemail so many times today, got the run-around, hung up on, cancelled my appointment. For what? Because I needed a prescription refill and was berated because they didn't call me to schedule a follow up visit like they always do. Run from this place!!! Run FAST!! I will say that Dr. Griffith has been fantastic but now I cant see him any more because CLARA decided to transfer me to a doctor in LAKEWOOD RANCH! Where does she get this authority and to cancel an appointment as well? So what do I do for a prescription refill now? If you need your prescription refilled, don't go to this place, because you'll be at Clara's mercy.
