Dr. Swenning is truly extraordinary. He is a world class orthopedic surgeon who is conservative in his surgical recommendations but highly skilled based on his extensive amount of trauma surgery. Dr. Swenning operated on my wife in November 2023 after a severe equestrian accident that resulted in a compound clavicle break and four broken ribs.

After seeing three prior doctors who did not inspire confidence and having three additional remote doctors who were advising, everyone believed that Dr. Swenning's advice and experience was superior and actionable.

We ended up doing surgery with Dr. Swenning which involved a complicated plate and screws given the compound break and continuing dislocation post injury. His surgical work was extraordinary and his team including Emily his PA who closed up the near 6" incision with such care and accuracy that no one can believe how faint and unnoticeable the scar is. I say all this because my wife saw the top orthopedic shoulder surgeon in our Newport Beach home area and he remarked numerous times about the extraordinary work done by Dr. Swenning. He went so far to say that he would be challenged to have matched his work. Her recovery has been rapid and multiple post-surgery x-rays have verified her shoulder to be in perfect composition with rapid healing and remarkably little if any visible sight of her orthopedic plate which typically is telegraphed through the thin skin of the collarbone area.

Further, the rehabilitation doctor's medical staff at first reacted with skepticism and even concern about a post operative plastic suture closure device that was used that their practice had never used. That was cause for some concern even though we reflected back on Emily's words (Dr. Swenning's PA) who ensured that she has had great post-operative results from her closure technique. When that plastic spline was removed weeks later, everyone was surprised hugely to the positive and the post operative care team complimented Dr. Swenning and his team once again.

Dr. Swenning is very good communicator, spends considerable time consulting, is well read on the most current research, has extraordinary experience with trauma and is surgically conservative.

We simply could not recommend Dr. Swenning and his team more highly. We feel blessed to have been the beneficiary of his extraordinary talent and experience.

He and his team have earned every word of this praise and this review. He truly has a gift with surgery and bedside manner and professionalism and we are eternally grateful for it.
