Dr Higgins did not do my surgery, but I am very grateful to have found him post-op. I have had a number of complications following trauma and surgery to my knee and ankle, and Dr Higgins is clearly the upper echelon of orthopedic surgeons specializing in this area. He is also very well plugged in to the orthopedic department, and has a breadth of referrals to make for more specific knowledge (he is not afraid to state where the limits of his expertise lie). That said, he is very busy! Sometimes the scheduling and waits can be frustrating, but in the end it's been worth it.

Biography

Dr. Thomas F. Higgins holds the Richard L. Stimson Presidential Endowed Chair in Orthopaedic Surgery and serves as Professor and Chief of Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery at University of Utah Health. An MD from Brown University with Yale orthopaedic training and a fellowship at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, Dr. Higgins focuses on complex intra-articular injuries, pelvic and acetabular trauma, polytrauma care, deformity correction, malunions, and nonunions.
