I knew I wanted to be a pediatrician since I was in grade school. I simply adore children. While I was in college, I worked in many daycare centers and became certified in developmental childcare. The only way to build rapport with children is to treat them with the respect all people deserve. Also, the fact that I enjoy getting on the floor and playing with the kids doesn't hurt. I've found that having open communication and always listening to my patients and their families have helped me become a better physician. I strongly encourage my patients or parents to call and ask questions when anything is concerning them.
