I took my daughter to get a root canal. Everything went great until I got a secondary bill saying I owed more money. I then examined by insurance "explanation of benefits" and discovered they had used a "CONE BEAM CT CAPTURE" scan that was not covered by insurance and was $356! They claimed to have notified us of this when we made the appointment and again before the scan was performed. But that did not happen! When I discussed this with the billing person (Holly?), she indicated that she could give me $100 off (which still felt like them stealing $256 from me), so I asked them to just credit me the remaining balance ($216) and we would call it good. She refused and said, "you can either take the $100 off and pay off your balance or you can let it go to collections." I said that was unacceptable (multiple times) and she hung up on me. I didn't yell. I didn't swear. I felt I was being polite, but forceful. I called back and apparently a manager will call me tomorrow. I will never take my family to Greater Endodontics again.
