I made an apt with the office for Friday 2/4. They cancelled the apt because of the weather which is totally understandable. Then I remake an apt for Monday morning 2/7 through the Aetna app. Because if a work emergency that I cannot leave early to make it to the doctor apt, I called first thing in the morning to the office to ask to be rescheduled. The girl said it was fine they will cancel it and go ahead and make the apt again online, which I did for 2/14. At 2:30 I get a call from the office saying because I no show to my original apt they will not accept me as a new patient anymore and that is their policy. I explained to the girl the situation and how I called in the morning and they told me it was fine. She then proceed to say well that is our policy you should have canceled it online 24 hours before the apt… the online apt I made is through the Aetna app and it doesn’t track your apt, it just send you a text which doesn’t give you any of the reschedule option. I am a pharmacist, I have patients I also need to take care of that I could not leave to make it to my own doctor apt. Any sort of empathy is out the window with this doctor office, especially how argumentative the girl who called me was, I think her name was Christy. If they informed me of the policy when I called I would have been understanding but no they said it was fine when I originally called in. I don’t believe they would genuinely care for their patients, but treat us like another number that walk through the door from just the initial interaction.
