My son is autistic and we were on a wait-list for over a year. When we finally got the appointment everything seems to be going well until the end of the visit when she asked my son if he has any questions. My son who was 9 at the time simply asked her how old she was. Now, I understand that that could be an offensive question to a woman but my son was recently diagnosed and he was in therapy to learn social skills. He simply asked a question he would have asked another kid. Well, she got upset and scolded him for asking a woman that question. I get it but this is an autistic kid and being that she had a pediatric development background she could have been a little more gentle with her correcting. Seriously, my son was in the car crying on our way home because he didn't mean to make her upset. We never went back.
