Dr. Sheila Hernandez, DMD

My wife took my daughter to be seen by Dr. Hernandez with a referral being told great things so we had high hopes. The staff was preffesional, welcoming, and very helpful. Dr. Hernadez on the other hand was not. Once she was in the room my daughter was only seen for 5 minutes. Dr. Hernandez didnt take my wife's concerns serious what so ever and just kept putting them off. Made her feel unheard and didnt take her opinons into considerstion. While Dr. Hernandez was diagnosing our daughter she was making rude facial expressions and rude gustures / comments.  This was our daughters first dental experience and we will be taking her to another pediatric dental office.

My son with Down Syndrome was referred to her and on our first appointment she stated that she just had back surgery and couldn't see my son. My son did not push or kick, he just would not open his mouth. She put on her gown, put on her face shield and grabbed her instruments right in front of my 6 year old down syndrome son. She recommended we send him to another dentist that can anesthetize him for a dental check. I couldn't find an in network doctor that can do this. As time passed and he  grew and matured and I made an appointment to see if he would allow her to check his mouth. She called his name and called me in closed the lobby door and next to the door she humiliated me and asked me why I made an appointment if she had told me she couldn't treat my son. My son opened the lobby door and I looked back to bring him back in and she told me, "look at me when I'm talking to you." She didn't give me the opportunity to tell her that we had been practicing to get him ready for the appointment, that I wanted her because I heard she was great, and that if she can see other kids what was the reason she couldn't see mine if she was going to lean in just like she does with others. I left in tears.
