Dr Shaw completed her undergraduate degree in computer science at the College of William and Mary. After a few years of computer consulting work, she attended medical school at the University of Virginia, then pediatric residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She has had the opportunity to work in private practices, urgent care, and more recently in COVID response efforts for the Virginia Department of Health. She lives in Richmond with her husband, who is a pediatrician with the VCU Health system. She has three young adult children.
