If we are being completely honest, I never write reviews. However I think this time is especially important I do, because I want to highly recommend Dr. Shanta Schriever. I've never felt as heard and comfortable before by a provider. She was incredibly patient with me as I expressed any thoughts or concerns I had. Not only that, but she educated me without any judgement nor disregard. She listened and was present during the whole visit. And I can't say this enough, she made it COMFORTABLE, during a not so comfortable exam. Such a vibrant beautiful personality! That's more than I can say I've ever positively experienced at such a visit. Grateful I came across Dr. Schriever.

I have been a patient of Shanta's for proximity 25 years and have seen her regardless of network status. I did have difficulty funding her as her prior clinic offered no information on her new location. I was able to track her down by querying the providence network and I was able to quickly schedule an annual exam. Shanta is a wonderful provider and always looks at my total health picture when we meet. It is obvious to me that Shanta takes the time to review my chart prior to my visit, thus maximizing the finite time we have together. Shanta is the warmest most compassionate health provider I have ever had and you are truly lucky to have her on your team.

I can't say enough about Shanta and the level of care she provided during my visit. She was thoughtful, patient, empathetic, and SO gentle during my Pap smear, especially considering I have a traumatic response to the procedure and needed a lot of support. I've honestly never had such a positive experience in the medical field in the U.S. Or overseas. She helped change my traumatic response, which is hugely empowering. She has a lot to teach other providers who minimize the pain/discomfort/anxiety/trauma that gynecological care can create (I'm looking at those who said that IUD insertion would feel like a bee sting). THANK YOU SHANTA!

I rarely get the opportunity to see the same person for my annual OBGYN appointment at the Women's East Medical Clinic. However, I have always received excellent care from the team of doctors and practitioners at this clinic. They are far more engaged with me during visits. They look closely at my history, ask good questions, are gentle with procedures, and are happy to answer questions without coming across as rushed. This has not been my experience at other facilities and I've chosen to pay a little more for the Providence health plan specifically so that I can receive care at the East Providence Women's Clinic.

I am very greatful for Shanta. She is very patient and caring. I had a lot of questions and concerns, that she answered. I was comfortable with sharing my medical concerns and admitted that I didn't know what to look for with self-breast exams. She didn't judge me, she immediately started educating me. Now, I am more aware and can do this self awareness body exam. She just might have saved my life because all of my aunts had breast cancer and over half of their daughters have breast cancer as well.

Shanta gave me the best possible care when I went in to the Providence Women's clinic. I had such an amazing experience with her during a time that could have been very upsetting and painful. Instead, Shanta walked me through the entire process, and empowered and cared for me in countless ways. Shanta was amazing! She had a really thorough knowledge of my medical history, was really kind and thoughtful about making sure to tell me what she was doing and why (which showed that an understanding and compassion for my past trauma/mental health history as well), and she answered all of my many questions with details that put me at ease. I told my friends this was the best OBGYN appointment (and maybe best medical care) I've ever had, so thank you Shanta!

Shanta functions at a very high level of both the medical/technical level as well as the teamwork/soft skills matching the medical knowledge This is a RARITY. I find most folks one dimensional. Shanta always operates from a position of psychologically safe, dependability, structure and clarity, meaning and impactful strategy moving forward. Shanta is both efficient and effective. This was my first time seeing Shanta and she was very easy to open up to. She was a similar personality to myself and that put me at ease. She is a fabulous listener and I originally was trying to see a Gynecologist, but they had an immediate opening the next morning with Shanta and I was so happy to be seen so soon. I will continue to schedule any follow up care with Shanta, as she exceeded all my expectations.
