Complete nightmare of an experience with Dr. Hadadian. She delivered by baby earlier this year at Tarzana Medical Center. She says that the goal is to have a healthy baby and healthy mother but neither were the case in my experience with her. She gave me a lot of false hope that everything was going to be fine with my delivery. I went to all the ultrasound appointments including the ones with Dr. Jadali in addition to the weekly NST. Despite all that, everything still went wrong.

I wanted a doula to be present during labor and delivery because this was my first pregnancy and I didn't want to be alone. When I mentioned to Dr. Hadadian at one of my appointments that I was considering on having a doula, her reaction wasn't positive. She asked if I still wanted her to deliver the baby. I said yes. I didn't want a midwife to deliver the baby. I just wanted Dr. Hadadian to deliver the baby and have a doula with me to help me with the labor. She made it seem like a doula wasn't necessary which gave me a false belief that everything was going to be fine. So I didn't hire a doula.

When I provided my birth plan to Dr. Hadadian, she tried to talk me out of delayed cord clamping. In my birth plan I wanted the cord clamping to be delayed by 3 minutes. She said that the cord should be clamped no more than 1 minute because it could cause blood clots and the blood from the placenta to the cord wasn't good after delivery.

I ended up being induced at Dr. Hadadian's recommendation because I was over 40 weeks. This occurred during a big rain storm. I went into labor quick after being induced at the hospital. I was all alone during active labor. When I gave birth, the baby suffered from meconium aspiration syndrome, so I didn't have the delayed cord clamping, I didn't have the delayed first bath and I didn't get the "golden hour" (skin-to-skin for 1 hour after delivery). My baby almost died. They sucked the meconium out but she had to be rushed to the NICU. My baby was in the NICU for 1 month because she also suffered from hypoxemia (low oxygen saturation) and tachypnea (rapid respiration). I spent 5 days in the hospital because I had high blood pressure. So neither my baby or me were healthy.

Since my baby was in the NICU for 1 month, I couldn't exclusively breastfeed as I had planned. I tried pumping but my milk didn't come in. When I saw Dr. Hadadian during my follow appointment, she recommended eating mung bean and prescribed Reglan for me, but neither one worked. Reglan had the terrible side effect of drowsiness which added to my post-partum depression.

When I saw her again at my final appointment with her (6 weeks post-partum), I told her that my milk still didn't increase after taking Reglan. She completely ignored me and didn't address the issue with my milk supply. She was so cold and unsympathetic towards me. She only said that I did the right thing by listening to her about being induced. She said that the baby probably breathed in the meconium during the 39 week of pregnancy. I'm thinking why wasn't this caught and prevented? After all those appointments, ultrasounds, NST, etc., my baby still almost died.

I wish I had a doula with me. I know it wouldn't have changed what happened with my baby breathing in the meconium but at least I wouldn't have been alone. I'm never going back to Dr. Hadadian.
