I was contemplating changing my insurance to Aetna after my retirement/relocation to florida, and my FIRST thought was to go see if Dr Bob was on my new plan. Not my GP, not even the local hospitals. Because, if he wasn't on the list, I wouldn't think of changing plans. Coincidentally, I saw this opportunity to leave a review so I took it. Hence the delayed review. Short version: As long as this man is still in business, I will drive the 357 miles back up to Alabama for ANY orthopedic services I or my wife need in the future. That's how much we think of Dr. Bob. Longer version: I had total knee replacements a couple months apart back in 2018 and its 2025 now, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Dr. Bob is extremely patient and an excellent communicator. I was an engineer, so bless him, if he can handle my litany of questions and not take the rest of the afternoon off, he can handle yours! His bed side manner is excellent. He explains everything clearly. And best of all, you make an appointment with him, you see him. You don't get pawned off on a NP or PA that you didn't plan on seeing. No offense to NPs or PAs anywhere, but if I want to see one I will make an appointment with one, right? The other thing is that Doc is not in a hurry to cut on you. He explains the non-surgical, and minimally invasive surgical options, and will work with you as you go through "the process". The last step for me came 8 yrs after my first visit when I finally decided to go the TKR route and I could not be happier. My wife and I have both been back over the years (last visit 2023 or early 24) for various, more minor issues, and we left there very happy with the treatment we received. Best of luck to you
