Dr Khoshini's practice told me I was in network for a colonoscopy, but weeks after my colonoscopy "consult", I received a $470 bill.  I called their office, and the assistant assured me I was in network and the procedure should be fully covered by insurance. She later realized that they had confused my Cigna policy for one that was covered, and in fact they were not in network for me. Despite admitting they made this mistake when admitting me, unbelievably they would not waive the bill. I had several conversations via phone and email with Maricel in Dr Khoshini's office, and also enlisted the help of Alight (my company's healthcare consultant) to help remediate this with their office. Their position remains that I must pay the bill for my "consult", during which nothing medical happened - they simply had me fill out forms and scheduled the colonoscopy. I want to be clear - their office understands that they made a mistake and told me I was in network when I wasn't, and they are still insisting that I pay a $470 bill for the "consult", during which they simply scheduled me for a colonoscopy that I cannot undergo with them. I would not trust a medical office that operates this way.
