I saw a midwife and it was the best experience I have had at ECU OB. All other doctors have been fine but she went above and beyond my expectations to help me find the answers I was searching for. She listened to me like I was a human being not in a rush to get to the next patient. I felt like a person, not a number. I felt she also asked the right questions and was able to put all the pieces together to help figure out what my problem was. I have found there is a stigma in medical care where woman are pushed off and told some basics like to exercise or reduce stress, but this midwife actually listened when I told her I think something is wrong. She offered a proposed treatment, telling me WHY she was suggesting this method and what the risks and benefits were and allowed me to make my own choice if that was the route I wanted to take. She ordered labs and specific ones that uncovered what was actually wrong. I now have hope. RACHEL HANFORD was the midwife that saw me that day.

My nurse practitioner was truly exceptional. Her gentle approach, deep empathy, and natural ability to make patients feel safe set her apart in the best way. She combines professionalism with a warm, uplifting sense of humor that instantly puts you at ease. Providers like her are rare, and I'm genuinely grateful for the level of care she delivered.

Rachel is the best. Informed consent is such a big deal for her and her bedside manner is amazing. She can make you feel comfortable to ask any questions and guide you toward the best decision for each individual. She really does an amazing job with personalized care.
