I saw Feder for therapy from age 20 until 27. About a year before I stopped seeing Feder, he began making comments during our sessions that made me uncomfortable, including calling me a “sexy blonde.” In retrospect, I see these as clear early warning signs of sexual harassment. But at the time, I just knew Feder as my trusted therapist of many years. Surely, he wouldn’t do that to me, I thought. But then I attended a session in the middle of a mental health crisis, and Feder took the opportunity to say, “You’re having an episode? Good, we can finally talk about this sexual tension.” I immediately told him this was sexual harassment and that I would be filing a complaint with the Board of Behavioral Sciences. He told me I was being cruel and “ageist” for not reciprocating his feelings (Feder is at least 30 years older than me). Long story short, Feder is a deeply troubled person who has no qualms about taking sexual advantage of vulnerable clients. DO NOT HIRE HIM.
