I was referred to Dr. O'Brien by my PCP in Helena for an abnormal finding on a CT scan. He ordered an ultrasound which was scheduled just before my appointment with him. I appreciated that the appointments were scheduled close together on the same day as I was traveling to this appointment. The ultrasound technician explained everything to me and was very respectful and careful to ensure that I was not in pain at any time. He explained everything to me during the ultrasound. Dr. O'Brien was very kind and thorough in explaining my ultrasound results and prognosis. I would not hesitate to return to his office if ever the need should arise.

I felt as if he was afraid to do the procedure he was recommending, so it made me nervous to agree to it, though I need it. That being said, because he is part of the Heart Institute, I trust him to do a good job. I've waited 6 months for this procedure. During that time I've already recommended him to a friend. His staff is friendly and professional but they never called me back when I had a question about my care. I think given to current volume of patients seen they're doing their best.

Dr. O'Brien was friendly and engaging. He carefully explained the test results, asked probing questions, and was willing to answer any and all questions. His friendly manner and genuine concern was comforting and left us with a sense of peace that his conclusions and recommendations were appropriate. I commend him and all the staff at the Heart Institute for their obvious professionalism and care for their patients. I am thankful that the IHI heart is present in our region.

Dr. O'Brien was excellent! He took the time we had with him seriously and professionally. He even had a kindly "Bed.side Manner!" The thing that impressed me the most was that he actually printed out some information on my husband's condition to take with us after our visit! I was very impressed with Dr. O'Brien and would highly recommend him. In fact, I normally would not have filled out your survey, but I was so impressed that I would take the time to do it for him!

The conversation I had with Dr. O'Brien in reference to my care was excellent. He took the time to explain to me my current condition and gave me options for us to discuss how best to proceed. He was friendly, caring, and a professional without being an arrogant provider who you can't connect with or feel understood. I saw Dr O'Brian for a specific problem. He ordered a test 3 days before my appointment and discussed the results at the appointment. I wish more providers were like him. He listened to what I had to say, explained in words I could understand and did a very thorough examination. NEVER gave me the impression of being in a hurry or that I was wasting his time. Loved him!!!!!!

My case is complex and ongoing for more than two years. Dr. O'Brien has done an excellent job of managing my disease and my anxiety in dealing with it. His empathy and caring is so appreciated.
