Dr. Naveen Kumar Ahuja, MD

I called to make an appointment but according to the receptionist they do not take Aetna Medicare. My insurance company said that they ate in network.

I visited Dr. Ahuja for an initial appointment.  Dr. Ahuja was great, he was very thorough, patient, provided all details needed. He spent time with me to discuss my procedures and was very clear on outcome, recovery time and recovery steps. Unfortunately, the health/benefit management office is horrific.  I visited the office 6/24, I waited several weeks for pre-authorization to be submitted, I was told staff was waiting on diagnostic codes from physician, this takes weeks? I waited another several weeks, call again and the coordinator blatantly lied to me and told me she submitted it, I explained that I could see the pre-auth submittal on member portal and it was not there.  She said she would follow up and the next day it was then submitted on 8/18, nearly two months after visit! The pre-auth was denied (as my opinion the office did not submit documentation/reason for procedure properly as I was approved but the previous doctor was out of network).  I called and emailed the pdf of the denial and asking if she would appeal,.  The nursing staff replied to my email that they will forward to the benefit/health coordinator.  Again, nothing for weeks.  I called the office and spoke with the coordinator in which she proceeded to tell me she seen it as 'pending' in her portal, in which I do not believe, also I sent the email with denial letter, etc.  She stated it was too late to do a peer to peer appeal as it was past 14 days of appeal, and she had to submit an appeal. This was on 9/14/22, today is 9/28/22 and the appeal still was not entered.  I am now need to research for another doctor as my fear is if there is something that is needed after my surgery and I would not have the energy to follow up, call and email, how would I be handled? This is a major procedure and if paperwork can not be handled properly prior to surgery, what will happen after surgery? 
So, I have been suffering dealing with my situation for an additional 3 months to start from square one with this process of researching doctors, their backgrounds and making a decision on who is best fit for me and the procedure and start the pre-auth process all over again!
