I get to fix kids and adolescents to get them back to sports and activities. I get to do clinical research that impacts the orthopedic care of children and teach surgical techniques to orthopedic surgeons all over the world. I get to train the orthopedic residents and fellows who are the future of medicine. I entered medicine because of pediatric sports medicine. I had surgery on my knees as a high school and college athlete in basketball and track. I was fascinated by my surgeons’ ability to make a diagnosis, surgically fix injured tissue, supervise my rehabilitation, and get me back to what I loved doing. I feel privileged to be a part of that with my patients.
