Dr. Marshall Robinson, Psychologist, PHD

 I do not recommend Dr. Robinson for sensitive women's issues that require a safe space over a longer time.  He struggles to be self-aware, and can be dismissive and defensive in the face of questioning, losing both his composure and compassion.  More importantly, Dr. Robinson is underprepared for the emotional complexity and countertransference attending capital T trauma.  This creates a high risk situation, for this kind, well- intentioned psychologist himself, but most importantly for the invested, fragile client who see him 90 minutes twice per week in the belief of being in the excellent hands of a time-tested provider . That is costly in more ways than the literal large expense of four sessions per week, costly emotionally, costly in time invested with diminishing returns. 

Dr. Robinson is a very good psychologist. I would not hesitate to refer people to him with great confidence if they have a concrete, time-limited, practical problem to solve or a sudden medical diagnosis to which to adjust . 

A female client who has been badly injured in her past who needs empathetic, very  long term , thoughtfully staged treatment within a window of tolerances would be better off with a different provider with more specific training.
