Laparoscopic Surgery

Laparoscopic surgery is a kind of minimally invasive surgery using a thin, narrow tube called a laparoscope. Usually performed on the abdomen or the pelvic region, the surgeon makes a few very small incisions instead of one large one.

During the procedure, the surgeon inserts the laparoscope, which contains a light and camera that allows the surgeon to see what is happening inside the body. Then tiny tools are placed through the small openings and used to perform the surgery.

The most common laparoscopic surgery is gallbladder removal, but laparoscopic surgery may also be used for the removal of a kidney or appendix, to treat certain cysts and tumors, for bariatric surgery, for some GERD treatments, or for hernia repairs, among others.

Because laparoscopic surgery only uses a few tiny incisions, the scars are minimal and recovery is easier than with open surgery.

I have been seen & treated by Dr. Papenhausen (and many of his associates) for venous insufficiency since his office was established. Dr. Papenhausen is knowledgeable, personable, and courteous, aside from his main focus of treating & relieving the painful symptoms caused by varicose veins. I consistently receive excellent care & I thoroughly enjoy chatting with him during my visits...it helps take your mind off of the needle sticks!!!

Dr Papenhausen is an outstanding physician. I am sure that the endograft he installed over 11 years ago saved my life. I have had complete confidence in his monitoring of my AAA prior to the procedure to determine when it was necessary, and the subsequent semi-annual or annual checks after the procedure to ensure that everything is working properly.

I was "forced" to move to Everett due to my health. My previous Primary ARNP and other health services are a fough act to follow. And I had heard from several people that Providence "wasn't good. The Doctor had a wonderful bedside manner and was very patient, understanding, Caring, and listened to what I had to say. He was on top of my problemAnd extremely well educated In that area. All in all I couldn't have asked for more and think he was wonderful. It would be wonderful to see more like him in the medical profession.

Dr Papenhousen is amazing. He is so kind and caring. He is attentive and listens. He is knowledgeable and I felt very comfortable from day 1 of meeting him. He put my fears at ease and help me understand the process of what needed to happen to remove my pesky veins. He listened to my concerns. He is such a great dr.

I feel very comfortable and confident in Dr. Papenhousen as a provider. There was, however, a breakdown in the scheduling when I tried to make an appointment. It took 4 different attempts to make this appointment with the clinic, with me initiating the call each time.
