Less than 2 minutes sonographer said my gestational sac was empty and not looking good. The first thing Maggie tells me once she enters the room is that my gestational sac seemed irregular, that there was only an amnion and ultrasound measured my gestational age to be at 6 weeks 1 day. (Coincidentally the exact timing I had in mind dating from day I conceived). She claimed that based on LMP my gestational sac should be at 8 weeks. Because ultrasound measured it at 6 wee,s 1 day and because gestational sac seemed irregular in the pictures taken and there being only an amnion with no fetal pole or heartbeat she said I had a missed abortion. She gave me 3 options to deal with the loss, take pills, have a D&C or wait for it to naturally be flushed out. Due didn't even ordered bloodwork to support her findings. According to the United States guidelines such diagnosis should not be made when gestational sac is measuring 16mm. Mine at that time was only measuring 13mm.  I was speechless. I couldn't believe my ears. I decided not to say much. Two days afterwards I went to the hospital for a second opinion and the said the structure inside the gestational sac was not an amnion but it was a yolk sac. My gestational sac was measuring 6 weeks 3 days. The said eerything, including HCG levels were measuring just fine. I went again to the hospital a week after that and they saw 2 yolk sacs. They say it's  a twin gestation. Both doctors that saw me on this day were upset that Maggie was too quick to diagnose me with a missed miscarriage.  I have been so depressed and in completely lost since Maggie said I had a missed abortion.
