I’ve given Dr. Thompson 3 appointments worth of chances and will not return. Each appointment became a lecture about how I needed to lose weight despite all of my vitals being perfect. She told me to change my diet and exercise without asking what my diet and exercise was. Even after I told her I was exercising, she said it wasn’t enough because I was SO unhealthy. I shared that I have a history with eating disorders after she told me I needed to categorize foods as good and bad. I told her that when I categorized food like that in the past, I stopped eating. Dr. Thompson continued to lecture me and ignored my ED history. Most recently, I visited for a med refill. After lecturing me about my weight again, she told me to come back in 6 months for a med check in. When I looked at my appointment summary online, I saw that she had, unbeknownst to me, listed “weight check” as the reason for my next visit. Dr. Thompson does not practice trauma informed medicine. Please be cautious!
