Dr. Lior Goldberg, MS, MD

Dr Lior Goldberg leads City of Hope’s Pediatric and Young Adult Cancer Cell Therapeutic Lab, which is dedicated to the rapid development of innovative immune-based therapies for pediatric and young adult cancers. His research program utilizes leading-edge research techniques to uncover new immunotherapy targets and design genetically engineered tumor fighting immune cells, called chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells. Dr Goldberg is the recipient of several awards, including the Sacchi Scholar in Pediatric Oncology Research Award, the NIH/National Cancer Institute K12 Award, the Margaret E Early Medical Research Trust Award and the Schwartz Accelerator Fund Award.

Lior Goldberg, MD, M.S., is a pediatric hematologist oncologist at City of Hope Duarte in the Los Angeles-area and an assistant profession in the Department of Pediatrics. As a pediatric cancer doctor he specializes in childhood cancers, immunotherapy and CAR T Cell therapy and is fluent in English and Hebrew. Dr Goldberg's work as pediatric oncologist centers around curiosity, compassion and courage. He makes sure to genuinely get to know the patients and families he serves, sharing in the difficult aspects of cancer and its treatment while helping ease distress.
