I have been with Dr Liu for more than 10 years now as a patient and he’s been my advocate for everything. He’s helped in my diagnosis that allowed insurance to approve surgery. He’s been doing my injections since I was diagnosed with DDD then AS. I will never go with another pain management doctor ever. His staff could be a bit better with communication but that seems to be with any provider I have.

He suggested I change pharmacies after being at the same pharmacy for over 40 years. I did (I was having issues getting my medications correctly) change during March, 2017. In August, they "lost" my appointment. I had scheduled a visit for August 7, at 2:45 (I even had their schedule card), but they said it wasn't there, and forced me to forgo my scheduled vacation to come in on August 2, at 12:45. He didn't even see me until almost 2. He was angry, because I can't take the injections due to another medication I will be on, and said I didn't need him then. He called in my prescriptions, but to the OLD pharmacy. Mind you, I had asked them to change my preferred pharmacy back in March, and every refill since that date had been at the new pharmacy. I called them when CVS said they hadn't gotten any scripts from him, and he then got on the phone personally to scream at me, calling me a pharmacy hopper (once, in over 40 years?!), and saying he could no longer trust me...so I had to see him every single month from now on. I told him I didn't mind submitting a urine test every month, but seeing him and paying a $60 copay every month was asking too much....especially since I could easily prove that I had switched back in March (He denied ever called in scripts to CVS...I have print outs and bottles), even though he's the one who told me to switch pharmacies. He evidently only wants you if you agree to have injections every three months. If not, you won't be worth his time.
