I have continually had very negative experiences with Dr. Matthews. I have seen her on 3 occasions over the period of about a year and a half, and she did not remember me the last time we visited, introducing herself to me as if we first met. She is consistently late to her appointments, I am often left waiting 25+ minutes past my appointment time. She did not listen to my concerns, or listen to me about how my blood sugar trends. She blindly wanted to make changes to my insulin regimen by looking only at my A1C, and not the individual trends/ needs. She was very combative when I questioned her decisions, and tried to bring up problems I was having with my insulin. She did not address my concerns about my insulin doses, told me I NEED to see a psychiatrist because I would not blindly take her "professional medical" advice, and that I NEED to be on birth control despite not having looked at my medical history to see that I cannot take it. She told me I NEED to see these other professionals because she cannot prescribe me these medications, but I need to be on them. I do NOT recommend this doctor to ANYONE. If you want personal, individualized attention from your endo., and someone to actually look at your glucose numbers, Dr. Matthews is not that person based on my experience. I would never recommend her.
