Dr Butler was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree at The Ohio State University in 2017. She then moved to Boston in 2018 to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree at New England College of Optometry (NECO). She spent her fourth-year externships rotating through the pediatric ophthalmology clinics at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO and University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH. After graduating optometry school, she pursued a residency in pediatric optometry at NECO where she spent time at several clinics including Boston Children’s Hospital, Tufts Medical Center, and New England Center for Eye Care at Perkins School for the Blind.
