Biography

Dr Laura Koth is a pulmonologist and an expert in interstitial lung disease. She is co-director of UCSF's interstitial lung disease center of excellence. Koth's research activities focus on the mechanisms of lung inflammation and macrophage activation. Macrophages are a type of white blood cell with important roles in immune response. Koth earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She completed residency training in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, followed by a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine UCSF. She joined the UCSF faculty in 2003.
