Katie did not help me with my issues. She provided little guidance whether that be with dbt or other modalities. When pursuing dbt, she made sure I knew I had to attend a skills group, but only provided me one option. When I later communicated that the group wasn't working for me and that I wanted to leave treatment, she stated she thought the group might not have been a good fit for me... well then why did she not provide alternatives? She also said the client could not fail dbt, only that the therapy could fail but then blamed me and said that I never seemed willing to give it a try in the first place. So which was it? I would have liked to think with better guidance and stronger therapy I could have had a better outcome as over the years I have continued to use the skills I have learned.
