I attended an appointment to set primary care with Dr. Julie Lee. I had been hospitalized in May. I was clear with the MA that I required work leave of absence extension from the visit. Dr Lee entered the exam room and started by informing me that she doesnt provide narcotics. I hadn't asked for them and in the three years of being with Stanford had not requested narcotics. We were discussing my mefical history and had not completed it when, at what must have been 30 minutes, Dr. Lee stated, "Our time is up. If you want to add anything to your history or have questions, you will have to schedule another appointment." She could not and would not finish my appointment, although I had had a complete history and physical by a more experienced doctor that took 20 minutes the day before this appointment. When I brought up my need for a work leave extension, she said that she did not do extensions. After pleading my case, she agreed to accommodations IF the secretary agreed. I agreed to the accommodations and Dr. Lee responded that I needed to schefule another appointment. I began to cry and pleed my case. I scheduled with another doctor at the soonest available and was told I'd need to have an appointment with Dr. Lee as she was now my primary care physician. I cancelled with the one doctor and rescheduled with Dr. Lee to discuss accommodations. That appointment lasted under 2 minutes. Long enough to tell me she wasnt my doctor and would not provide accommodations as she had stated she would if I scheduled another appointment. This appointment was scheduled specifically to discuss accommodations as she had directed. Not only did she waste my valuable time, she also charged insurance for a 30 minute appointment where she didn't provided any care. I believe that is fraud. As a cherry on the cake, I received a CERTIFIED letter informing me that my crying in the first appointment was viewed as "aggressive." So with these young physicians, crying is now considered aggressive? Give me a gen x or boomer doctor who know how to provide patient care and listen any day before Dr. Lee. After the 2 minute appointment on 7/18/25, I was hospitalized on 7/26/25 for a bill to my insurance for 100,000.00. Appropriate care from Dr. Lee could have prevented this hospitalization.
