I was referred to Dr, Ibanez at the pain intervention clinic of Moffitt Cancer Center by my surgeon at Moffitt.  I have chronic pain that I live with all day every day since a 13 hour surgery at Moffitt over three years ago.

I got my hopes up when both the scheduler and person who checked me in both gave her unsolicited rave reviews.  I was interviewed by a technician, a nurse and then a resident and then finally Dr, Ibanez came into the exam room.

I gave her my history telling her of everything I had done in an effort to mediate my pain.  I had had four unsuccessful C2-C3 blocks over a period of two weeks at Florida Orthopaedic Institute located in the same city of Tampa.  She said prior to proceeding, she wanted to see the report from the other facility, but assured me that she could glean that information very quickly.  I was told I would be contacted when they got the information.  Now it takes all of a couple of minutes to send that information via computer and again the two facilities are just miles apart.

That is the last time I ever heard from them and that was three weeks ago today.  I guess Dr. Ibanez is not suffering any pain and should consider another speciality in that she obviously has no understanding/empathy for a patient that shows up at  pain intervention clinic for help!

Doctor Ibanez was very good explaining what's going to happen before the surgery and what I need to do and what they're going to do and what I need to do after the surgery and she explained to me how the surgery was going to be done and answered all my questions to where I'm looking forward to haven't got done as soon as possible.
