I came into Dr Singha’s office with a Trimalleolar fracture that had happened two days prior. I was referred to him so this was my first time meeting him or reviewing/discussing  my X-rays. When he walked into the room, he introduced himself and immediately told me how he had already scheduled me into his calendar for surgery. He didn’t discuss why surgery was needed or reasoning behind it. When I tried to discuss the difficult time I was having with my current pain medication and the nausea it was causing, he told me that I really needed to focus on my “self reflection and how valid that pain really was.” He then told me about how he did his residency in NY at Mount Sinai with trauma patients that went through worse than what I’m currently experiencing so for me to again really focus on that self reflection aspect of the “pain” that I’m having. He must’ve told me 4 separate times how I needed to “self reflect on the validity of my pain”. Never once asking me about the pain levels or how I was feeling. That was his response to me telling him I was having a hard time with the pain medication. Dr Singha had the worst beside manner I have ever experienced. The appointment felt more like a egotistical bragging session about himself and how he does about “5-6 of these types of surgeries a day”. I was completely disregarded and gaslit when I did ask questions or have the opportunity to talk. I can’t speak on behalf of his surgical skills, but personally, I would never go to a dr that treats you as a number and not a person. When we told him I wouldn’t be moving forward with surgery and leaving, his response was “ok”. That goes to show you the lack of care he had and that he saw me as just another number or dollar sign. If he treats a patient like this before surgery, imagine your lack of post-surgery care. I would NOT recommend.
